Where are you located?
Our Place is located within the Galilee Korean Presbyterian Church at 1183 Davenport Road, close to Oakwood Avenue and Davenport Road. The 63 Ossington Northbound bus from Ossington station will bring you right to our door.
What types of outings are available?
Outings for Our Place participants are usually within the city, such as to the movies and bowling. Occassionally we hire a bus for outings to parks and other attractions. Outings are listed in our monthly calendar found here.
Depending on the outing, there may be a cost for the participant of $2. Sign-up sheets are posted within the Centre ahead of time.
Due to COVID-19, we do not have any outings scheduled.
What goes on in the drop-in?
Mental illness can be a very lonely experience. We encourage participants to come to The Centre and socialize, make friends and have fun. Our Place provides organized activities such as karaoke, live music, bingo, writing groups, bible study and more. Anyone iswelcome to use our art supplies, games and cards and to play a game of pool. Or you can just come in and hang out or have a meal with friends.
We have had to adjust our programing to comply with the provincial COVID-19 guidelines and are unable to hold programs inside the centre.
However, we are offering a range of programs online and serve free meals between 2:00p.m. and 5:00p.m., Monday-Friday.
Check out our
Program Calendar and
Blog for more information.
Do I have to be Catholic or believe in any particular faith?
No. Our Place is a charity and we receive funding through Catholic Charities, supported by ShareLife. However, we serve all members of the community: people of different faiths and no particular faith at all.
Everyone is welcome.
Do I need a diagnosis or referral to attend?
No. While the program is intended for those living with mental illness, you do not need a diagnosis or referral to participate. If you feel comfortable here, you are welcome anytime.
What are you doing to ensure you continue to support people safety during COVID-19?
We are doing our best to continue to safely support you during this complicated and uncertain time and have adjusted our programming accordingly.
In accordance with provincial Public Health guidelines, we have closed the drop-in and moved all programming to virtual delivery (see the
Program Calendar for more information on what programs are available).
Meals are being served to-go so you can come and grab a meal to take away and enjoy (Monday-Friday, 2:00p.m. to 5:00p.m.). We are enforcing physical distancing during this time so everyone waiting for a meal is asked to keep a 2 meters (6-foot) distance from others.
Our Place staff and students are required to complete a
COVID-19 Self-Assessment prior to coming to work every day. Masks are mandatory, as is physical distancing and proper hand hygeine.
We understand that mental health is just as important as physical health. If you are struggling, please reach out to us:
