Our Place is currently open for drop-in from 12:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Monday-Friday! We ask that everyone wears a new N95 mask while inside the drop-in.
If you are double vaccinated and would like to dine-in please bring your proof of vaccination and ID to enjoy a meal inside from 2:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. from Monday-Friday. However, if you aren't vaccinated or are uncomfortable with dining in, please stop by for a free to-go meal & coffee Monday-Friday, between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
We have started our in-person programming and are continuing our Peer Support and Live Music programs online through Zoom. Please check out our Blog on the Our Place website to see more program updates and details.
We hope to see you soon! 😀
Mental illness can be a very lonely experience. We encourage participants to come to The Centre and socialize, make friends and have fun. Our Place provides organized activities such as karaoke, live music, bingo, writing groups, bible study and more. Anyone is welcome to use our art supplies, games and cards and to play a game of pool. Or you can just come in and hang out or have a meal with friends.
We have had to adjust our programing to comply with the provincial COVID-19 guidelines and are unable to hold programs inside the centre.
However, we are offering a range of programs online and serve free meals between 3:00p.m. and 5:00p.m., Monday-Friday.
Check out our Program Calendar and Blog for more information.
To-go meals are served Monday-Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at no cost. Seconds may be available at the end of the day around 4:45 p.m., however they are not guaranteed.
Everyone is welcome and there is no need to sign up ahead of time.
If you are coming for a meal and have a dietary restriction/allergy, please make sure you phone the centre before noon that day to let us know. We will do our best to accommodate your needs, however cannot guarantee the meal will be allergen-free.
Outings for Our Place participants are usually within the city, such as to the movies and bowling. Occassionally we hire a bus for outings to parks and other attractions. Outings are listed in our monthly calendar found here.
Depending on the outing, there may be a cost for the participant of $2. Sign-up sheets are posted within the Centre ahead of time.
Due to COVID-19, we had placed a hold on outings, however we are slowing starting them back up!
We are doing our best to continue to safely support you during this complicated and uncertain time and have adjusted our programming accordingly.
As of right now our programming is available both in person and online; please see the program calendar if you have any questions. Everyone is socially distanced inside with a limit of 2 people per table.
Meals are being served to-go so you can come and grab a meal to take away and enjoy (Monday-Friday, 3:00p.m. to 5:00p.m.). We are enforcing physical distancing during this time so everyone waiting for a meal is asked to keep a 2 meters (6-foot) distance from others.
Our Place staff and students are required to complete a COVID-19 Self-Assessment prior to coming to work every day. Masks are mandatory, as is physical distancing and proper hand hygiene.
We understand that mental health is just as important as physical health. If you are struggling, please reach out to us:
