Board Members:

Chris Anderson - President

Chris Anderson holds an M.A. in Business Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University and an Honors degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario. He is currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designations.

Chris has three years of industry experience and four years of risk management consulting experience. In his profit optimization role in the fresh protein industry, Chris compared supply and demand to identify additional sales opportunities. In his current role at Deloitte, Chris has worked on a variety of projects with financial institutions conducting internal audit and regulatory compliance reviews.

Peter Adams - Vice President
Peter Adams is a consultant in the Toronto office of The Boston Consulting Group, having joined in 2005. Prior to BCG, Peter worked as an analyst at a competitor firm. Since joining, Peter has worked in consumer goods, retail, and financial services on topics including global manufacturing strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational effectiveness. He earned a Bachelor of Commerce (First Class Honours) degree at Queen's University in Kingston.

Lori Martin – Treasurer
Lori Martin is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), with a Bachelor of Accounting from Brock University. Lori has been studying Gestalt psychotherapy for several years at the Gestalt Institute of Toronto.

Lori has been working in the Real Estate industry for 8 years, and is currently a partner of a Land Development company in Toronto.

Susan Rae - Secretary
Susan Rae holds a degree in Psychology from the University of British Columbia. She is currently pursuing the Certified Fundraising Executive Certification.

Susan has fifteen years of business experience, working in the financial, training and healthcare industries. She is currently employed at York University Foundation and enjoys volunteering for the Special Olympics in Toronto.

Natasha Apollonova - Chair of Fundraising Committee
Natasha Apollonova holds an M.A. in Business Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University and an Honors degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario. She is currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, is fluent in Russian and is currently studying French.

Natasha has five years of consulting experience and has provided strategic planning tools, market analysis, and policy support to clients in media, travel, manufacturing, retail and government sectors.

Charles Lesaux
Charles Lesaux is employed in the Treasury Management group with RBC Capital Markets. He joined the Board at Our Place in 2005 and recently rejoined the Board at Our Place after having worked overseas in 2007. Charles is a CFA, he holds a B.A. in Economics from McGill University and an MBA degree from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. He has always expressed an interest in contributing to the community through volunteer opportunities. Previous experiences include working at the Scott Mission in downtown Toronto, Un Prolongement de la Famille in Montreal and his first volunteer experience was working amongst a group of kids with autism at the Child-Parent Resource Institute (CPRI) in London, Ontario.

Vani Jain - Board Member
Vani Jain's involvement with Our Place stems from her commitment to issues in mental health. She is currently at the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario, where she is developing their mental health and justice program, including a program to support the families of people in the forensic mental health system. Prior to that, Vani worked in public policy at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. She holds a B.A.(Hons) from Queen's University and is completing her Masters in Education at the University of Toronto.

Kristine Stuef - Board Member
Kristine has been a member of the Our Place Board since 2001. She is an occupational therapist, and has been working in community mental health since 1997

Heather McDonald - Board Member
Heather came to Toronto to complete a Masters Science in Occupational Therapy after completing a degree in physical education. She liked the city of Toronto and decided to stay. As an Occupational Therapist, she divides her work time between serving clients at home and coordinating student fieldwork and new clinician mentorship. She has co-authored programs for individuals with depression and methods to promote positive problem orientation. Heather also volunteers her time to address poverty and social justice issues with Health Care Providers Against Poverty.

Althea Parkinson - Board Member
Althea has worked in the field of social services for well over ten years, both with adults and seniors. The individuals she serves have faced social problems ranging from poverty, homelessness, concurrent disorders, severe and persistent mental health issues, physical and emotionally abuse, dual diagnoses, housing access, and justice issues. Althea spent twelve years working in an acute care hospital while pursing her undergraduate degree in Applied Human Behaviours from Concordia University. Outside of work she has volunteered on a support line in Montreal for seniors who are isolated, she is a member of the Labour Management Committee at her workplace, and she has facilitated a wide variety social activities geared to adults and seniors with a focus on enhancing their quality of life.
